An Overview of YAHUAH's Feast Days

September 2006

Dear Chaciyd (Saints),

It is very important that we understand the {ma-kha-shaw-baw} (plan and purpose) of YAHUAH.  One way that we can begin to understand YAHUAH’S {ma-kha-shaw-baw} (plan and purpose) is through the observance and celebration of His feast days.  There are seven qadash (set apart, separate) festivals that YAHUAH has instructed us to keep.  As we observe these seven qadash (set apart, separate) festivals not only will we see YAHAUH’S great plan for mankind, but we will understand His plan for mankind.  This is the key factor that man is missing in this hour.  They neither celebrate or observe YAHUAH’S feast days; therefore they lack an understanding of YAHUAH’S {ma-kha-shaw-baw} (plan and purpose).

EPHESIANS 1:9-11  Having made yada (known) unto us the  cathar {saw-thar'} (mystery, secret, hidden things) of his ruwth {reh-ooth} (will, desire, pleasure), according to his  towb{tobe} (good) {raw-tsone}(pleasure) which he hath  {ma-kha-shaw-baw} (purposed, determination, plan, set forth) in Himself:  It is through YAHUAH’S qadash festivals that we have an understanding of His ruwth (will).  YAHUAH reveals the cathar (mystery) of His ruwth (will), and it is according to what YAHUAH has already predetermined and set forth in Himself.  YAHUAH has given us His present and future plan through the teaching and observation of His feast days and by studying the feast days we can thoroughly understand His plan.  So how can anyone who say that they are believers in the Scriptures not keep these seven festivals, knowing that YAHUAH’S {ma-kha-shaw-baw} (plan and purpose) is revealed through these feasts?  vs 10  That in the dispensation (administration) of the fullness of times He might gather together in one all things in MASHAYAH, both which are in  shamayim {shaw-mah'-yim} (heaven), and which are on  'erets  {eh'-rets} (earth); [even] in Him:  vs 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated (preordained) according to the {ma-kha-shaw-baw} (purpose) of him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own  ruwth {reh-ooth} (will, desire, pleasure):

Most professing Christians observe what they call “The Lord’s Supper” or some such observance involving the partaking of bread and wine, which symbolizes MASHAYAH’S sacrifice; but very few understand why they are doing this.  These occasions of memorial observance are only the first step in YAHUAH’S plan.  For most professing Christians all the other stages of YAHUAH'S plan are not observed in any way and/or therefore not understood in any way.

Throughout scripture many of the things that YAHUAH does are revealed through the pattern of seven.  We see this in the book of BERESHITH (GENESIS).  In the first chapter we see that YAHUAH created seven days.  Also in BERESHITH (GENESIS) 2:1-3, we see that the seventh day is revealed to be YAHUAH’S qadash sabbath.  The seventh day is a shabath ha shabbathown {shaw-bath' ha shab-baw-thone'} (sabbbath of rest).  In WAYYIQRA (LEVITICUS) YAHUAH names exactly seven annual feast days that He wants us to keep.  These seven feasts are for all humanity to keep.  It is through these seven annual feast days that YAHUAH reveals His {ma-kha-shaw-baw} for all humanity.  Then in REVELATIONS chapters 2 and 3, we find the seven {kaw-hal} (assemblies) described; we read about the seven seals, the seven trumpets, the seven plagues, etc.  So, it is not surprising that YAHUAH’S plan is revealed in seven steps because we know that the number seven represents completion and perfection.  Therefore, since we understand the importance of the number seven, it should seem ridiculous to observe just one of YAHUAH’S annual feast days picturing His plan and omit the other feast days.  So let us look at these seven annual festivals so we can better understand His plan and purpose in these festivals.

The first annual feast is the solemn observance of MASHAYAH’S suffering and death on our behalf.  The Scripture calls this The Pecach {peh'-sakh} (Passover).  It pictures our acceptance of MASHAYAH’S broken body and shed blood, which he offered as our Savior.  But remember this is only the first step in YAHUAH’S plan for us.

Next, we need to grow in {kaw-nan} (favor) and yada (knowledge).  2 KEPHA (PETER) 3:18  But grow in {kaw-nan} (favor), and [in] the  yada (knowledge) of our Rabbi {ra-bee} and Saviour YAHUSHA ha MASHAYAH. To him [be] kabad (honor) both now and for ever. Amen {aw-mane}.  This is when we begin to put our old sinful ways and habits completely out of our lives.  This “overcoming” process is depicted by the Yowm ha Matstsah Lechem (Day of Unleavened Bread).

Luke 13:32 speaks of us as being the “little flock.” vs. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your  ABI’S (Father's) tobe (good) pleasure to give you the kingdom.  The “little flock” are only the firstfruits of the spiritual harvest that will occur after MASHAYAH’S coming.  So YAHUAH’S third annual feast, the Chag ha Chamishshiym (Feast of Pentecost or the Feast of Firstfruits), pictures the fact that only a very small spiritual harvest is being reaped by YAHUAH at this time.  YAHUAH is not trying to yasha (save) the entire world at this time.

The overwhelming upheaval events at the end of this present age and MASHAYAH’S return to the 'erets (earth) are pictured by the Feast of Trumpets, which is known as the Yowm Truw’ah {ter-oo-aw} (Day of Great Noise)WAYYIQRA (LEVITICUS) 23:24-25   Speak unto the children of Yashar'YAH, saying, In the seventh month, in the first [day] of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of truw'ah {ter-oo-aw'} (blowing) of trumpets, an qadash miqra'(set apart- separate gathering, sacred reading)The word truw'ah comes from the primitive root word ruwa {roo-ah}, meaning blasting, sounding forth, shout out, blast out, shout in triumph, shout in praise, shout out in victory over enemies.  vs. 25  Ye shall do no 'abad {aw-bad'} (servile, no work, no service work) work [therein]: but ye shall offer an offering made by {'iysh eesh} (fire) unto YAHUAH.  Trumpets were literally used in ancient Yashar'YAH as alarms of war.  In our day, at the climax of a series of wars and worldwide upheaval, YAHUSHA MASHAYAH will return and the dead will be raised “at the last trump”

I CORINTHIANS 15:51-52  Behold, I shew you a cathar {saw-thar} (mystery); We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed, vs. 52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  HALALYAHUAH!!! (PRAISE YAHUAH)

Then immediately after MASHAYAH’S return, Satan {saw-tan} is supernaturally bound and put into the bottomless pit “so that he should deceive the nations no more.”  REVELATIONS 20: 1-3 And I saw an melakimYah (angel of YAHUAH) come down from shamayim, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.  vs. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan {saw-tan}, and bound him a thousand years, vs. 3  And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.  Finally, with Satan bound, man can become one with YAHUAH, and we can hear a pure word from YAHUAH.  This is clearly pictured by the fifth qadash feast, The Yowm ha Kippur (Day of Atonement).

After MASHAYAH’S return, YAHUAH pours out His RUAH and begins to enlighten all humanity with the true understanding of His great plan.  At this time, YAHUAH says, “The ‘erets (earth) shall be full of the knowledge of YAHUAH as the water covers the sea.” YESHAYAHU (ISAIAH) 11:9  They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my qadash mountain: for the 'erets (earth) shall be full of the knowledge of YAHUAH as the waters cover the sea.  This is pictures by our joyous observance of the sixth feast in YAHUAH’S plan, which is the seven day Feast of Cukkah {sook-kaw'} (Tabernacles) or the Feast of  'Acaph {aw-saf'} (Ingathering).  SHEMOTH (EXODUS) 34:22   And thou shalt 'asah {aw-saw'} (observe) the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.  YAHUAH’S qadash day calendar is based upon the harvest season of Yashar'YAH.  As understood, this pictures for us the spiritual harvest YAHUAH plans to reap.  First, the small spring harvest is pictured by the “Feast of Firstfruits.” Finally at the end of this age, the massive autumn harvest as pictured by the Feast of Ingathering.

Now, we come to the seventh and final qadash feast YAHUAH gave His people.   What part of His plan could be still be left to picture?  As stated earlier, Satan will be bound for a while (one thousand years).  Even at the end of  MASHAYAH’S one thousand year reign, there will be the untold billions of people of past ages who never understood virtually anything  about the true YAHUAH, about YAHUSHA MASHAYAH or YAHUAH’S {Ma-khaw-shaw-baw} purpose for their lives.  What will happen to these “unsaved” billions of human beings since “there is no partiality with YAHUAH?” ROMANS 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with YAHUAH.

The solemn seventh feast of YAHUAH pictures the time when YAHUAH will for the first time open their minds to understand His dabar (word) and His ruwth (will) and give them a genuine opportunity to have their names written in the “Book of Life.” REVELATIONS 20:11-12  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the ‘erets (earth) and the shamayim (heaven) fled away; and there was found no place for them.  vs 12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before YAHUAH; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

With the observance of this seventh feast that we call the LAST GREAT DAY we finish the portrayal of the entire plan of our Creator.  YOHANAN (JOHN) 7:37   In the LAST DAY, that GREAT [DAY] of the feast, YAHUSHA stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.  From our first acceptance of MASHAYAH as savior to the picturing of His coming and all the way until the LAST GREAT DAY, picturing the time when all human beings will finally have a real opportunity for salvation.  These YAHUAH-given, YAHUAH-inspired feasts picture the real plan of YAHUAH.  The pagan religious festivals that Satan has fostered have deceived humanity and are a cheap substitute.  In reality, they picture a god and a christ that lead to the acceptance of a gospel, which directly contradicts the emmet/aman (true and faithful) message that MASHAYAH and His limmuwd/lamad (taught ones, disciples) preached!

These seven festivals with two lasting seven days and five lasting one day make nineteen annual feast days each year.  Seven of these nineteen days are special “sabbaths.” They are the first and last days of the Feast  Yowm ha Matstsah Lechem (Days of Unleavened Bread), the Feast of Chamishshiym (Pentecost), the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Kippur (Atonement), the first day of the Feast of Cukkah (Tabernacles) and the Last Great Day.   It is through the observation and celebration of YAHUAH’S  seven annual feast days that we understand YAHUAH’S {ma-khaw-shaw-baw}.   Through YAHUAH’S {ma-khaw-shaw-baw} (plan and purpose), we learn YAHUAH’S ruwth (will) for humanity.
